Rondee and PIN codes

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

I saw a posting this morning where a user asked: ” What happens if two people customize their conference calling pins to be the same?  Will they log into each other’s meetings if they are scheduled at the same time?”

Assuming we are talking about Scheduled Rondee (as opposed to Rondee On-Demand)….our conferencing system will not allow two PINs to be the same, precisely for this very reason….

Rondee Conference PIN for Invitees

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

A user asked: “In the event that someone hasn’t been invited through your website, can I give them a pin and will it work? What do I do if there is some technical difficulty that prevents someone from being free to access the conference call?”

You as the conference call organizer can give an invitee your PIN and that invitee can still access the conference.

Accessing a Rondee Conference Call with Someone Else’s Pin

Folks frequently ask if they can do this.  The answer is yes but with one caveat….because Rondee is designed to work on the basis of each individual having their own PIN, you will hear a warning message when you dial in to the conference call with someone else’s Pin.  But it will still allow you access.

PIN Codes on Rondee

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

One question we are occasionally asked is why the PIN code is unique to each user for a scheduled Rondee.  The key reason is that your PIN code is associated with your email address.  That means anytime you are invited to a Rondee conference call, via email, your PIN remains the same.  this is equally true for teleconferences where you are the Rondee organizer.

With Rondee-NOW, the PIN is not unique to each caller.  Rather, there is one PIN that works for everyone who is calling in.  Rondee-NOW conference calls are not actually scheduled through the Rondee web site. They are scheduled off-lineor privately via e-mail.
