Rondee Free conference calling versus Rondee toll-free

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

A user asked: “It sounds like you have a very good service here. But I am puzzled as to how you make money - what’s in it for you?”

It is true that we do not charge for our core service: Rondee Free Conference Calling.  However, some percentage of our users do sign-up for our premium service (Rondee Toll-Free) which is a paid service at five cents per minute per user.  In addition, we will be releasing new premium features in the future such as call transcription.

PIN questions with Scheduled Rondee Conference Calling

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

today we heard this question: “I have invitees that do not have E-mail access. How can I invite them, along with the web rondees so that they have their own access code. Can I do a web invite and have all the rondees use the same access code?”

This is a situation that has a couple of solutions.

First, if you want to solve the problem while still using Scheduled Rondee, here is what you need to do: set up your Scheduled Rondee conference call like normal.  You will not be able to invite them because you do not have e-mail addresses for them.  That is okay.  Call them and give these individuals your PIN.  When they dial and they will receive a warning message telling them that they are dialing in with your PIN.  However, the system will still allow them access to the Rondee conference call just as if they had their own unique PINS.

The second solution is to not use Scheduled Rondee.  Instead, use Rondee On-Demand for your conference call.  In this case, everyone dials in with the same PIN anyway.  You would need to separately call them and tell them what the PIN is.

Our users report successfully using either of these two solutions.

Rondee Toll-Free vs Toll Conference Calling

Monday, October 5th, 2009

A user posted this question: “I am new to rondee and was wondering about the fees. The FAQ sheet states that the associated costs should only be the “long distance” call that is being placed for your regular toll services and the scheduling sheet references your “toll free dialing” premium product.  We have unlimited long distance, as I assume the other parties do also. Do I need toll free?”

If your number one goal is cost minimization, using Rondee’s regular service at 619-276-6333 would make sense.  Since you have unlimited long distance, your cost of using Rondee’s regular service will be zero.

Your question suggested you might be wondering why people sign up for our premium service….the typical reason that our call organizers use Rondee Toll-Free is because they want to enable other participants to dial in for free or because they want the added prestige of offering toll-free conference call access.

Changing your Rondee Timezone for Conference Calls

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Sometimes our users move and then need to change their timezone setting for organizing conference calls.  Making this change is simple.  Just log into your Rondee account and click on “My Account”.  On the left side of the screen you’ll see the timezone selector.  Click on that and choose a new timezone & click update.  Future conference calling arranged through Rondee will have your new timezone as the default.

Muting

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Over the weekend we had a user ask us about how the muting function works on Rondee. This is a topic that comes up quite a bit. Each participant on a Rondee conference call can mute or un-mute themselves. You press pound 1 to mute and then pound 1 to unmute. If you forget this option, you can always press pound to hear all options.

Super sizing your Rondee

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

In the past week, we’ve had a lot of users write-in to ask whether they can host Rondee conference calls with 10, 20 or 30 people. In short, the answer is yes. Until you start to get well above 50, Rondee can handle calls that encompass your entire team, company, extended group, etc. Keep in mind, however, that the call quality will start to suffer if too many people are on a call and allowing ambient noise to waft in. Remember that you can always press Pound 1 to mute yourself. In fact, pressing pound will remind you of all the options available such as mute/unmute/ increase or decrease volume, etc.
