The Recurring Rondee Feature

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

This is now Recurring Rondees work.

  • A the time when you schedule a Rondee, you’ll see a little check-box that allows you to specify “Make this a Recurring Rondee”
  • You’ll also be able to select whether it should repeat every day, week, month, etc.
  • When you specify that a Rondee will be recurring, we store that information away.  But but we do not send out a bunch of invitations at that moment. Each recurring Rondee has only one “live” invitation at any given time.
  • When the conference concludes, we determine when the next scheduled version of the recurring call should take place. We then schedule another Rondee at that date for you automatically

This means that users can stop a recurring call simply by unchecking the “Make this a recurring Rondee” checkbox.

Rondee and TimeZones for Conference Calls

As of now, all Rondee invites show the timezone as specified by the organizer.

So if you schedule a Rondee for 3:00 pm EST, all your invitees see it as 3:00 pm EST.

We sometimes get requests for having invitees could see the conference call time displayed in their own timezone but Rondee has no way of knowing the time zones for unregistered invitees of the teleconference.

Details on Rondee Audio from Conference Call Recordings

One of the nicest features that distinguishes Rondee from other free conference calling services is the ease of use and utility of our recording feature.  Folks frequently ask about the quality.  Typically it is as or better than 16 kb/sec. The reason is that the raw audio is uLaw at 64kb, and then we compress it using GSM for storing the conference call file.
