2. We don’t engage in controversial business practices
Most free conference calling companies have you dial rural Iowa or Minnesota phone numbers served by rural carriers who partner with such free conference calling companies. In turn, the rural carriers impose exorbitant tariffs on the national carriers who originate these calls. Then the rural carriers share this revenue with the free conference companies. In some cases this revenue is five to ten times higher than normal. The national carriers believe this is an abuse of regulatory provisions originally enacted to encourage phone service to underserved rural areas. Some national carriers have sued such free conference companies.

• What does Rondee do?
Rondee is the only major free conference call service NOT USING the rural dial-in numbers that are at the heart of this controversy. Rondee’s free conference call dial-in bridges are located in metropolitan California areas. Our business model is the traditional Silicon Valley freemium approach in which the core service is free and premium services (e.g. 1-800 acess, call transcription) are available at reasonable charges.
